What we aim for
This site should work whether you are reading it with a screen reader, moving through it on a keyboard, magnifying it, or running your system with animation turned down. It is built to WCAG 2.1 level AA, and colour, focus order, focus visibility and motion are all checked by script before a page is published.
How that is checked
Every combination of text and background on the site is measured rather than eyeballed, against a floor of 4.5 to 1. Animation stops completely when a visitor's system asks for it. Each form control has a label attached in the markup, a focus state you can see, and any error message tied to the field it belongs to. Nothing on the site requires a mouse.
Where it falls short
The map panel is served by Google and its accessibility is outside our control. Every city that map covers is also written out as plain links immediately next to it, and again across the bottom of every page, so the information is never only inside the map.
