Retail is judged in the first ten feet past the door

Before opening or after closing, on a schedule that fits your trading hours and holds up through the winter and the holidays.

Retail customers make a judgement about a store in the first few seconds and they rarely revise it. Entrance glass, the floor inside the door and the smell of the space do most of that work, and all three degrade fast in a New England winter when every customer brings salt and slush in with them.

The other pressure is the calendar. November and December multiply the traffic and shrink the tolerance, and a program that just holds in September will visibly fail in December unless the frequency and the floor plan were built for it.

We clean around your trading hours, not through them, and we plan the winter and holiday frequency at the walkthrough rather than reacting to it in week two.

What the program covers

  • Sales floor vacuumed or mopped to the surface, edges included
  • Entrance glass, doors, handles and window displays cleared of prints
  • Fitting rooms cleaned, mirrors polished, hooks and benches wiped
  • Counters, point of sale terminals and card readers disinfected
  • Shelving, fixtures and display units dusted on a rotation
  • Stockroom and back of house floors kept safe and clear
  • Staff room and restrooms cleaned and restocked
  • Entrance matting and winter salt program from November to March
  • Floor burnishing or extraction scheduled outside peak trading
  • Extra frequency planned for the holiday season in advance

Four things we hear in almost every walkthrough

These come up again and again in a store. If any of them sound like your building, the scope is where the fix starts.

Entrance glass covered in prints by mid morning every day

Winter salt on the floor inside the door for the whole season

Fitting room mirrors that are never done properly

A program that works in September and collapses in December
